Illustration That Belongs to the Story
A book's artwork should feel like it could only belong to that particular world.
My approach to publishing illustration begins with the story itself:
its atmosphere, mythology, symbols, characters, places, and the small details that make its world distinct. Rather than creating artwork that simply decorates a book, I look for the visual language already living within the story and develop illustrations that feel like an extension of it.
That might mean finding the symbol that can carry a cover, tracing the geography of an imagined kingdom into a map, creating small ornaments that echo throughout the chapters, or developing a collection of visual elements that connect the book from cover to final page.
I work primarily within fantasy, folklore, fairy tales, and mythology, with an illustrative style rooted in symbolism, nature, old stories, and imagined worlds.
The goal isn't simply to illustrate what happens in the story. It's to create artwork that feels as though it came from the world itself.

How It Works
1. Tell Me About Your Book
Begin with a project inquiry at the bottom of this page and tell me about your story, the artwork you're looking for, where you are in the publishing process, and any timeline or production requirements you already know.
2. I'll review your project.
I'll review your inquiry and respond within 2–3 business days. If I think we're a good fit, I'll recommend an illustration approach and let you know what additional materials I'll need to prepare a quote.
3. We'll Define the Artwork
Together we'll establish the illustration scope, deliverables, timeline, revisions, intended usage, and licensing. You'll receive a project proposal and agreement before work begins.
4. I'll Bring It to Life
Once the project is booked, I'll begin developing the artwork. Depending on the project, this may include early concepts or sketches before moving into the finished illustration.
Illustration Rights & Licensing
Artwork created through Fantasy Publishing Illustration is licensed for the uses agreed upon before the project begins. Unless otherwise negotiated in writing, I retain copyright to my original artwork while granting the client the commercial usage rights specified in our project agreement.
Publishing, promotional, special-edition, merchandise, and other usage rights may be licensed differently depending on the needs of the project. Full copyright transfer or work-for-hire arrangements are not included by default and require a separate agreement and fee.
Specific licensing, usage, payment, revision, and delivery terms will be outlined in the project agreement before work begins.
